Silver Bolt strikes at UBET Park Hobart

Nov 04, 2015

Last season Silver Bolt was competitive against some of the better three-year-olds with close-up efforts behind Geegees Doublejay earning him the respect of most.

At UBET Park Hobart yesterday Silver Bolt returned to racing with a bang, scoring a convincing win in a strong benchmark 62 handicap over 1200 metres.

Despite looking a bit burly when parading in the mounting yard, the grey gelded son of Estambul made his opposition look ordinary when he flashed down the outside fence with a late burst to score a runaway win over Hyperbole and Luxembourg.

The Adam Trinder-trained gelding had only four starts last season for a win and two seconds and was fourth at his only other outing which was on an unsuitable heavy 9 rated track in Hobart in May and that was his last run before being spelled.

It was the first leg of a training double for Trinder who also prepared Fund Trader to score a narrow but impressive win in a benchmark 72 handicap over 1600 metres.
