Today we say farewell to Chris Graham who finishes his apprenticeship with Trinder Racing to take up an opportunity with Pearce Racing in Western Australia.
Chris commenced with Trinder Racing in 2016 and had his first race ride on 16 July, which was a winner with Neilson winning Class 3 Hcp at Launceston.
Chris rode 101 winners whilst indentured to Trinder Racing including 3 Listed wins, the first for trainer David Miller aboard Overplay in the 2018 Tasmanian Guineas. Chris enjoyed considerable success earlier this year guiding our star two-year old Mystical Pursuit to dual stakes wins.
Chris was leading Tasmanian apprentice in 2017/18 and was runner-up in 2018/19.
Chris has outridden his claim in Tasmania but the move to Perth will see Chris able to claim 3kg.
On behalf of the team at Trinder Racing we wish Chris all the best for the next stage of his career and thank him for his contribution to Trinder Racing.
With Chris’s departure we welcome Ianish Luximon to the Trinder Racing team.
lanish is 21 years old and was born in Mauritius. His journey in the racing industry commenced in his home country and has seen him spend time in Malaysia and Singapore. He has already completed 35+ official barrier trials in Singapore.
He has ridden in trials against Glen Boss, Michael Rodd and Vlad Duric and is excited to be given the opportunity to come to Australia to improve his riding skills and commence his race riding career.
Outside of racing, lanish enjoys playing football.
If you see lanish around the stables or the races, please say g’day and make him feel welcome to Tasmania.
