Valerius breaks maiden status in Launceston

Jul 02, 2017

LIGHTLY raced three-year-old Valerius broke his maiden status at the Luxbet Racing Centre in Launceston on Sunday to suggest he could have a bright future.

Valerius (Bulent Muhcu) travelled well just behind the leaders to the home turn and when his rider called on the gelded son of Statue of Liberty for the big effort he pounced on the lead and went on to score impressively.

It was a game win and one that pleased his trainer Adam Trinder who said the gelding almost died of pneumonia as a yearling.

Listen to what trainer Adam Trinder had to say about Valerius’ maiden win.
