Adam Trinder is third generation of the famous Trinder family in Tasmania. He is the son of Michael and the grandson of Ray with all three men being inductee's of the Tasmanian Racing Hall Of Fame.

Adam's grandfather Ray was the successful trainer and owner of the 1972 Melbourne Cup winner, Pipping Lane and won numerous feature races in Tasmania including two home Cups at Devonport in the 1960's.

Michael Trinder has been a top trainer in Tasmania for many years and among his highlights include training four AV Hiskens Steeples at Moonee Valley with Adam riding the last of this quartet on Misty Weather in 2003. Michael to has also trained two Devonport Cup winners in the 1980's.

Adam Trinder was always going to be in racing from a very early age and showed what a talent he was back then by running second in the Launceston Cup at 15 years of age on the 100/1 rank outsider Eager Prince only to beaten by then leading Melbourne jockey Michael Clarke on Rich Dreams.

Adam was a successful flat jockey in Tasmania but succumb to heavy weight quickly and turned to jumps riding at the age of 17. He quickly came into his own winning all major jumps races in Tasmania and quickly headed across bass strait to further his career. Once based in Melbourne it didn't take Adam long to start notching up success at the highest level winning such races as the Australia Hurdle, Galleywood Hurdle, Grand National Hurdle and two Hiskens Steeples, just to mention a few.

And here is a good trivia question for you, Adam Trinder is the first jockey to win any race in the world for the new millennium as he rode the Ellerslie Steeple winner in 2000 at Auckland New Zealand.

Adam quickly established himself as one of the state's leading trainers by finishing in the top three of the Trainers Premiership consistently.

He has also notched up many feature wins already including the triple crown with Youthful Jack in 2012: TheTote.com.au Stakes (Launceston), Thomas Lyons Stakes (Hobart) and George Adams Stakes (Launceston),   Valiant Warrior 2015 BM 90 (Moonee Valley) 2015,  Jerilderie Letter Listed Tasmanian Derby (Hobart) 2016, Listed 2016 Hobart Guineas (Hobart), Listed 2016 Tasmanian Guineas (Hobart),  Mystic Journey Group 2 Aquis Farm Fillies Classic (Moonee Valley) 2018,  Listed Jim Moloney Stakes (Caufield) 2018.

Being from a fierce jumps racing family, Adam has always had patience on his side and you really see that with him as a trainer giving every horse a chance to develop and come into their own.

Adam always lets his owners know "We're a patient stable that likes to nurture each horse, and the horse always comes first!"

With a great team of staff behind him which includes his partner Leah Goodrick, a former leading rider herself, Trinder Racing is simply a recipe for success!
